Linoleum Block Print Art Career Logos
If you could follow any path in the visual arts, what would it be? What? Students researched an arts career of their choice in order to determine:
-the education required for the profession
-the typical employer of the profession
-the average salary for the profession
-the tools typically used by an individual in the profession
-the type of artwork typically created by the art professional
Students then applied the information gleaned from their research in order to design an illustrative logo meant to promote and advertise the profession they chose.
Art is everywhere; even in the most obvious of places. Art can be found in the form of graphic design and advertising in the pages of magazines and newspapers, and on billboards and websites. Students examined their still life drawings for interesting objects that could represent a brand or company. After researching advertisement aesthetics and strategies, students selected part of their still life to incorporate into an original product-driven advertisement, using original and found imagery, as well as Adobe Photoshop.
In Visual Arts Magnet 7, students used naturalistic color, starting with only primaries, black, and white, in order to create an observed still life drawing on toned paper. Students are currently using their drawing as inspiration in order to create a product advertisement using Adobe Photoshop.
